Lord Shiva represents various forms and is considered to be the Supreme Being. He is admired for his tendency to destroy all evil and sorrows from the life of his worshippers. He is the donator of lushness among all the living beings.
In pursuing Shiv Rudra Abhishek, Lord Shiva is worshipped in form of Lingam or Linga and abhishekam is acted upon. Rudra yagya and maha yagya forms the major part of rudram pooja. The ingredients that are included in the puja are belpatra, flowers, coconut water, milk, honey, sugar cane juice and honey.
