How to do Diwali Puja and Navaratri Puja
Navaratri and Diwali are two most important events in Hindu Mythology. Both of these have spiritual importance and there are few rituals associated with both. To beign with let us learn how to do Navaratri Puja.
This puja is quite simple and not much complicated. The fast can be observed on all the nine days or on just the first day and eighth day of Navaratri. While performing the puja one can recite the following mantra – “Om Ang Haring Kalimg Shreeng Maha Durgay Namah”. Three things should be taken care of in Navaratri, which are food, behavior and character.

How to do Navaratri Puja?
Clean your house in the morning of first day of Navaratri. Clean and prepare the Puja room. Make a mud bed of small size to sow the barley seeds in it. Keep a earthen pot on it filled with water. Above this pot a bowl filled with rice is kept and a dry coconut wrapped with the leaves of Ashoka tree is then kept on it. This arrangement should remain enact till the nine days. One should not modify it or move it after keeping. The picture of Goddess Durga is then kept and the puja should be performed.
On the tenth day, the barley seeds are about 3-5 inches long. After the puja the few seedlings can be pulled out and can be kept in lockers or study room. After this the pot with the remaining seedlings can be taken and kept in temple under the Banyan tree.
After the Navaratri comes the Diwali festival. It is a very auspicious festival and people all over India celebrate it with joy.

Firstly, keep a raised platform in the place of worship. Spread a new cloth on it and put some grains in the center. On this pile of grains, put a Kalash. Fill it with with water and keep the betel nut on top of it. Along with this keep a flower, a coin and some rice grains too. Keep one more kalash with a dish of rice grains on it surrounded with Mango leaves.
Now place the picture of Lakshmi- Ganesh and Saraswati. The picture to you should be like Goddess Lakshmi in center, Goddess Saraswati to your Left side and Lord Ganesh to your right. Offer Garland, sandal paste, perfume, haldi, Kumkum. Light the incense stick and offer sweets and fruits. Perform the puja and lastly do the Aarti.
